Bad Mom Confessions 2

So yesterday, I spend a good fifteen minutes playing with this:
(The Leapfrog Alphabet Pal Catapillar)

Except, I already know all my letters and their sounds.

I spent a good fifteen minutes on the "letter sounds" section trying to get it to sound out bad words.

Apparently, the good people at LeapFrog have great foresight AND a sense of humor.  If you start to get it to sound out a bad word, it will stop the actual sounding out process with a giggle sound effect and then resume making the letter sound.  That breaks up the total pronunciation of the taboo words.

I think that made me laugh more than anything else.  (And yes, I tried to find words to get around the system.  Surprisingly, there aren't many).

Yes, I know.  I am easily on the mental level of a 13 year old boy.  Thank you.

  1. Abby got that for her birthday and before I finished getting the thing undone from the packaging my brother (27) was clamoring to push s-h-t. He was pretty disapointed to get the giggle.

We still try it, six months later!

  2. I love the leap frog toys for that one! Ash got the word whammer for the fridge last Christmas. The first 3 letters she chooses? A-S-S. It wouldn't pronounce it for her. Just sang it's you made a word song....lol. Still not sure how she picked out those 3 letters, but i was relieved that we didn't have to "unlearn" a word ;-)

  4. We did that for like an hour at Tom and Renata's place! Remind me later and I'll fill you in on the words that it will let you spell! We came up with some fun ones :) You are not alone...

  5. Monkey Boy has one...and we too spent quite a bit of time trying to get it to swear. Hey, you take your laughs where you can get them!
